Khyber Teaching Hospital Medical Specialties is commemorating World Hypertension Day by organizing various activities to raise awareness about hypertension and its associated risk factors. The theme for this year is “Know Your Numbers, Live Long Life.”

To support this initiative, the Department of Cardiology under supervision of Prof. Dr. Ambar Ashraf conducted a World Hypertension Day Walk to raise awareness about hypertension and ways to control its risk factors. Additionally, free nutritional awareness camps were set up at the cardiology OPD and ward, offering guidance from trained nutritionists to nursing students and OPD patients.

Furthermore, free medical camps were held at the cardiology ward by #Healthcare professionals, and a symposium was organized in the Nursing Auditorium by the Cardiology Faculty to discuss #WorldHypertensionDay. The hospital also plans to continue promoting awareness throughout May 2024 with lifestyle modification and a free nutritional awareness camp in the cardiology ward for admitted patients.
